Blossom in the city... A true Floral Sculpture

A cloudy weather on a Sunday morning in Bangalore, a perfect weather to roam around the city, we planned to visit Lalbagh flower show which is a special floral exhibition organized by Govt of Karnataka for 2 special days, i.e. Independence day and Republic Day. They start one week in advance to attract more crowd.

We left our house around 11am Indian Standard Time, due to heavy traffic near the place, we preferred public transport then reached Lalbagh West Gate around 12.30 pm as we had to change 2 buses from my place. We saw a huge crowd in front of the gate, there were around 5-6 ticket counters for issuing the tickets made our day simple as we hardly stood in the queue to collect the tickets. The ticket was Rs.50 per head to enter the flower show, weekdays it was Rs.40 per head, the rate was reasonable. It was free for the school children.

We entered the gate, the park was filled with greenery and was crowed as expected. In the entrance we saw a green fountain, that made us feel relaxed, then we went inside, seeing colorful flowers on the side of the walking path and we saw the crowd capturing pictures of them and their loved ones.

Then we saw so many little babies and small kids, who were playing in the park with their parents and friends. That always makes you feel happy when you see the kids laugh and play around.
Full of greenery around the park

Finally we headed towards the Glass house, where the actual flower show was arranged. We found another fountain on the way, which was still more colorful than the first one which was in the entrance. Then we reached glass house, here we could see the real crowd. People were standing in the queue and were very curious to see the blooming and colorful flowers. We were curious too.

There were two ways to enter the flower show, one was in left and the other one was in the right. There were two queues for every side. We entered from the right side smaller queue. I was very curious to watch beautiful flowers. As this week was holiday week, there were so many people who visited the place that day.

As we entered, we could see colorful flowers on my left hand side. It made me feel amazed. We were very much curious to see more ahead, I am not a botany student, or else I would mention the name of all the flowers and their classes and family etc.

The most important attraction was the Flower Boat, which was made up of flowers and sticks, it was surrounded by a artificially built lake. On both ends we could see the country and the state flags, indicating the independent India after 67 years. It was indicating that India is heading towards the peace and fraternity and to be one of the successful country in the world.

It was amazing to see and was very difficult to take the photographs. It was much more beautiful than in the picture. There were two artificial ducks which added some beauty for this floral sculpture.

Later, we proceeded further in the glass house, on the left hand side we could see rose tree, then on the right side we saw a floral mat, (bunch of flowers). There was also a place where they had arranged so many marble stones, that added colors to the flowers arranged on the floral mat.

So we finally came to the ending stage of the show, it was full messed up with those whistles by the security guards and make us move every time. Apart from that it was a good experience.

Then we decided to stand in the other side of the queue and watch the other side of the glass house. Again most of the flowers were repeated, We could see the other side of the flower boat where Karnataka flag was visible. We left glass house, but still there was so many places to visit in the botanical garden. there were vegetable garden where we have all the vegetables grown, that was mind blowing too.

We were tired, there were so many shopping stalls, we roamed to all the shops, we purchased so many stuffs as many things were attractive. Then Lalbagh is famous for churmuri, we had that, it was very spicy as before, just enjoyed the moment.

Finally a good experience to the flower show ended and proved to be worth going. Then we left the place around 4.30pm IST. We could never forget the amazing experience that we had. Floral lovers will love this, so as the photographers, its a good place to hang over.

Thanks for the amazing flower show this time. Hope it will be maintained in the near future. The main drawback was that about throwing waste facility, all the eatables and wastes were thrown on the road, even they had dustbins placed. Flower show was concluded on 15th of August, most of them expected to have till 18th of August, but unfortunate.

It was good to witness them live than in the photos, but I have tried my best to capture my experience with the pictures. Hope you enjoyed reading.
