I was very excited to write about this. Last weekend a trend
started on twitter in Bangalore having a hashtag - #Youareabangaloreanif. This hashtag
was trending in Bangalore for 2 full days; this was India trending too on one
of the days. I think there are people like me still tweeting on this hashtag
and made Bangalore very proud. Most of the tweeples in Bangalore tweeted on
this. tweeples like @rameshsrivats, @anu_km, @vadakkus, @james_priya, @fakingnews,
@blahfamous, @bhatnaturally, @tinucherian etc and many other big and small
tweeples started tweeting on this for 2 days. I was one of the tweeple who
participated here.
Most of the tweets were on Traffic, Roads, Metro
construction, Auto Rickshaws, Language, IT companies and employees, Life
styles, Food, weather etc. This hash-tag was initiated by @pal36, as per vadakkus
@vadakkus’s blog. I am very thankful to him to start this kind of hashtag
which makes me thrillfull to tweet about and also blog about it. He also
started for Delhi with hashtag - #youareadelhiaitif, but it never trended like Bangalore
tag did.
Commenting funny things about your hometown will always be
fun. I started reading most of the tweets which made interested to write on
this. Every tweet I read was very funny and interesting which will make you
know about your hometown. There are many social media virility on twitter, most
of them is paid and to promote their products. The unpaid ones usually are negative
ones. But this is a trending campaign which lasted for two days and still
happening.
Bangalore is called as Silicon City, Garden city where
people are always busy going to offices, schools, colleges, etc. in a busy life
people have not time to talk about the city and interested to know about the
city. The visitors to Bangalore are increasing day by day; the main reason to
this is the constant climate, the people and the IT trend that is growing in
Bangalore. As I mentioned earlier the tweeples tweeted about Autoriksaws,
Traffic, Climate, Kannada slang words –“ Kannada Gotilla”, “Right madi”, “Guru”,
“Macha”, etc. Most of them tweeted about
Roads, Parking, Movies, etc. this was a perfect platform to tell about
Bangalore and to know about Bangalore.
This inspired me to write on the life style in Bangalore,
people in Bangalore, climate, shops, theaters, language, and many more… WOW!! Simply
Astonishing. And twitter became a
platform to share your thoughts. I still see people never stopped tweeting
around the hash-tag even after 5 days and will never stop atleast for few days.
I felt this hash-tag made me more excited even after seeing many more hash-tags
which is made to engage people just for the sake of engagement. It was the best
hash-tag which was viral on twitter. Hash-tag was very simple cute and stirring
.
There were few tweets that I have mentioned below which was
very interesting.-
@rameshsrivats,- “#YouAreABangaloreanIf You mentally
rehearse your approach before talking to an auto driver.”
“#YouAreABangaloreanIf while giving directions, if it's
nearby you say, "Straight hogu" and if it's far away, you say
"Straaaaaaaaight hogu."
@anu_km - “#YouAreABangaloreanIf the Auto driver first
speaks to you in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, English till you tell him.."Meter
haaki saar"”.
@iKumbhakarna - #youareabangaloreanif your local ANNamma
*RKishNa* (orchestra) ends with 'Kuladalli Keelyavudo Huchchappa' :-D :-D
@vadakkus - #youAreABangaloreanIf You consider crossing
Silk Board Junction in a single attempt as a major achievement in life.
@iBestest - #Youareabangaloreanif your city doesn't have an
airport, but a village outside your city has.
There are many sample tweets about this hash-tag on @vadakkus’s
blog . I am very proud about this. Proud to be a Bangalorean.
